Rickards Ramblings: Axminster camping trip.

A weekend away in the company of Nigel Rickard..without the top and tail dilemma, and from the comfort of your own home.

“Off we go, she didn’t miss a beat, very different story from the last 12 months, having been previously plagued by running problems . On the A30 we were attacked! A Kamikaze seagull decided we represented some sort of threat and dive-bombed the front panel. Big thump, flurry of feathers, horrible bong sound and we have to pull over. We’ve lost the front badge, only one indicator is working, but there is no blood and guts. The indicator responds to a second thump and the badge is recovered from the carriageway; back in business.

We get to our Axminster campsite with only two major arguments, which is way below normal and an excellent job. Set up with no dramas and only had to consult the awning instructions twice, although hanging onto the cover in the wind was a close run thing. We visited some great beaches and only got rained on twice, every other day. Should of gone away in July I suppose. All too soon though we were packing up, the journey home was minus any incidents, and the previous work I did on the engine had certainly come good. We are back to another site in August and then there is Vanfest to look forward to. It’s all going good at last!”
