So on a sunny Wednesday evening after work David and I headed down to Prept at Brands Hatch for the monthly vw meet. We left in the MK1 making it there fine in the trusty steed armed with some catalogues and some parts for a customer.
There were many a VW there when we got there and also many Caterhams and BMWs coming off the track. We picked up a coffee and some chips put a few catalogues out and headed off for a look around the cars and a chat with some owners. It got busier as we were there and around 8 o clock the roar of some aircooled motors turning up (its mainly a watercooled meet). Everyone was happy to see a great variety of vw’s and the air cooled guys got a lot of attention form the unexpecting regular watercooled guys.
Managed to speak to a few people and get some pics before it was time to head off as it was getting late. A traffic jam on the way back held us up but the mk1 made it back perfectly. What a great little car.
Just proves aircooled and watercooled vw’s can mix and it gives us loads more inspiration and things to look at. Roll on next month Prept vs Players show, should be a good one!!
