Okay we might have bent the truth just a little bit here, but there’s nothing stopping you buying a non-runner Mk2 Golf for cheap as chips and transforming it into a VR6-powered show stunner like 26-year old Darren has gone and done. It may have taken him two years beavering away in his garage, but my oh my what a creation for his first ever project! No corner was cut – every panel apart from the tailgate has been replaced and a rare and original G60 bodykit sourced – even the donor VR6 block was completely rebuilt by Darren and his dad. It just shows what you can do when you put your mind to it. Inspiration we hope for all those unfinished VDub projects out there! So what do you think – and is built, not bought better?
