VW Harvest – stunning VWs on show - Heritage Parts Centre

It’s always nice to see what’s going down on the Dub scene across the Pond – so check out some of the ultra cool air-cooled gems that recently turned up to the ‘VW Harvest’ show in Austin, Texas…

The mammoth gathering, which attracted VWs from Houston, Dallas and San Antonio, took place at the end of October and featured a spectacular cruise through the scenic Texas hills on route to local landmark ‘Top Notch Burgers’. Over 40 VWs joined the convoy, with another 40 waiting at the famous eatery when they got there…

With a host of sponsors on board there was a ‘SwagWagon’ going around the show giving away ‘swag’, while a bustling swapmeet area provided VW diehards with the opportunity of rummaging through a hoard of car bits to find that missing part or accessory.

In total, close to 350 VWs graced VW Harvest, no doubt attracted by the warm, sunny weather – not to mention the very generous raffle with prizes including an official VW bike, a hot air balloon ride, signs, parts, posters and toys. There was also a Twinkie (sponge cake) eating contest and ‘bounce house’ (bouncy castle) to keep the kids entertained.

It sounds like everyone had a real hoot, and with so many gorgeous Dubs it was undoubtedly the perfect way to spend a late autumn weekend. Incidentally, we’ve already had the dates through for the 2016 event – Sat/Sun October 15-16 –so if you fancy a trip Stateside, then would be a good time to make the trip!
