It was the 6th year of our annual VW Heritage Santa Cruise, and our 5th visit to The Childrens Trust at Tadworth Court. The weather was kind to us, staying dry all afternoon, the wind however was blowing something of a gale! Meeting at VW Heritage HQ in Shoreham-by-Sea from 12 noon, our festive following started gathering, decorating their steeds and donning Santa suits all in the name of charity.
Almost 50 VWs, old and new, each with suitably seasonal occupants took to the roads of Sussex and Surrey. A number of ‘camera cars’ made their way through the convoy to capture the A road antics, all to the amusement of other road users, of course!
Between the 70 or so Santa’s we raised a fantastic £700 for this great cause. Our money will be put towards the purchase of a wheelchair accessible bicycle that can be used by the children and their families in grounds of Tadworth Court. A special thanks to everyone who donated presents, we were overwhelmed by your generosity, creating a sea of gifts that swarmed the tree in the school hall!
A special mention to Ian at UltraVW too, he donated a box of this months magazine to be sold for donation, so far raising over £50, but we have some left, and for sale in the VW Heritage shop if you missed out.
This year VW Heritage gave away a £100 gift voucher to the best decorated VW: there was tinsel aplenty, and even some fairy lights, but it was R2D2 in a Santa Hat that scooped the prize!

I’m pleased to announce that next year is booked already! Sunday 4th December 2016, pop it in your diary now!
