There were mixed emotions as we held our last ever VW Heretics meet in Burgess Hill on the 21st August. Excitement as we were only days away from moving to our new premises, but sadness too, as it had finally sunk in, we were leaving Burgess Hill behind for pastures new.
We had our fingers crossed for good weather, and our wishing paid off. It might not of been glorious sunshine, but “dry and cloudy” ticked enough boxes to draw a crowd.
We had secured the skills of local song-smiths Krypton, who performed a set of mainly original rock/pop material, with a clever covers medley to finish things off. Adding music to our meets has really boosted the atmosphere, and turned a couple of hours on an industrial estate into a mini midweek festival. You can check them out on their website here.
As usual we had some great VWs come along, some we’d never seen before – others not for a while. It’s a lottery for us, as to who will turn up – we just seem to get lucky and land the jackpot most months!
We should point out that our Heretics meets will still continue to run, for September at least (we tend to hibernate away during the winter!) but from our new home in Shoreham-by-Sea. We hope you will be able to join us on the 18th for more of the same, find more info on our Facebook event page.
We’ve put some more photos from this meet over on Flickr, you can find them here.
Hope to see you next month
