Let there be music!

June’s meet is only a week away, and for the second time this year we will be having some music on hand to keep the ears entertained. This month resident DJ and new sales team member Andy H will be spinning some tunes to accompany the usual array of classic and modern VWs, food and late night shopping.

Last month was a great success with over 80 cars and great music from The Mayan Kings, to enjoy more of the same Thursday June 20th is the date for the diary; hope to see you there!

Looking forward, July’s meet will see Volksworld show favourites Bright Light City take to the stage offering their  blend of British punk, with a touch of the 90′s Seattle sound, dabbled with pop and topped with hardcore riffs. (That’s how they sell it – and it’s good, for sure!) After making the list of new acts in MTV’s Brand New for the year, and being chosen as part of the Hard Rock Rising ‘Bands To Watch’ in 2012 they have supported Bastille, Kids in Glass Houses and Dog Is Dead. Plus they have had commercial radio stations like BBC London, BBC 6 Music, Absolute Radio, BFBS radio and Xfm  giving them air play too.

Then, as if to spoil you a little more we have Liquid Fuse playing the warehouse at the August meet.  While they have their roots in 80s rock, their varied influences and versatile song-writing makes them set to “reinvent rock and roll” (Hot Buzz magazine) with a fresh sound, compounded by a mass of attitude and presence. They have played the IndigO2, the O2 Academy Islington and the headlined the legendary 100 Club. You are in for a treat!

Really hope you can make it along to one or more of our meets, to enjoy the music, the atmosphere and the vehicles that come along to make the meet what it is.

Andy
