A quick trip through 2011

Our 25th year has come to an end, and what a great way to see it out; with our biggest ever sale and sending one lucky chap to Wolfsburg! As we start 2012 it’s a great time to reflect on our achievements, things we have enjoyed and what’s kept us ticking for the last 12 months.

January…. We launched our Brand New 1600cc Aircooled engines. These have been a great success this year, and 2012 will see us build upon this range offering bigger capacity performance engines.

February…Rubber Monday landed; we ran a one day sale on all rubber seals on Valentines Day. No one likes water on the inside, so keep an eye out for this years Valentines Offer, Rubber Tuesday anyone?!

March…We announced our Partnership with VW Classic Parts in Germany. This was, and still is fantastic news. Granting us access to 40,000+ obsolete and reproduced original VW parts. There are some obscure requests coming through but some are available. Keep asking us, that hard to find part is only a phone call away!

We also ran a competition to get a car for our stand at Ultimate Dubs, the watercooled season opener. We had a great response, and ended up picking 2 cars instead of one! Well done to Luke and Scott whose Mk1 Golf and Caddy looked fantastic alongside the other show cars at the Telford International Centre.

April…Technically it was the end of March, but VW Heritage along with Terry’s Beetle Services sponsored the Best Outsider award at Volksworld as the celebrations of our 25th year got underway. Congratulations to Steve and his 63 Split for scooping this great prize -a rather special trophy made by Jay Townsend for us.

May…Another 4 styles of wheel were added to the SSP wheel range. The Slot Mag, The Torque, The Crest and The Raider all take their cues from period alloys and have been improved by us  for your aircooled consumption.

June… Unite42nite was the words on everyone’s lips, VW Heritage were taking over the monthly Prept meet at Brands Hatch in July. There was still a month to go, but the buzz in the VW scene was building already!

The Big Boys Toys website officially closed, and we moved all our Golf Mk1 and Mk2 range under the VW Heritage name, to make the most of our partnership with VW Classic Parts.

July…Our 25th Birthday Party was here, and well what can we say.. almost 1000 cars, more people than the previous weekends Formula 2 race meeting. A huge Success on all accounts with some very worthy winners of some very cool trophies. Oh, and we went to Euro Bug-in too, and that was alright!

August…It was our 25th year, what better way to continue celebrations than by knocking 25% off over 1500 parts! Hope you all picked up a bargain or three! In other news VW Classic Parts switched on the “wing machine” and we had genuine MK1 Golf wings again!

September… VW Action, Edition38 and Vanfest, a busy few weeks for VW fans! We had a great time at VW Action and Vanfest.

October….It was Brighton Breeze, with the best weather in years! We were there of course!

In other news, Sam Fish our sponsored driver in the VAG trophy finished the season in 2nd place (he didn’t even enter all the races!) Top marks to him!

November… or should we say Movember. It was Moustache mania in the offices of VW Heritage, with our team The Nose Bugs we raised over £600 for the Everyman prostate cancer charity.

December…Where do we start! Someone was to win a VIP trip to Wolfsburg, we ran our biggest ever sale slashing 10% off all orders over £100 and who can forget the success of the Santa Cruise, which raised over £600 for Chestnut Tree House.

So lets raise a metaphorical glass to the year that was, and here is to 2012 and may it be even better than the one just passed.

Andy
