A big congratulations is in order for long term friend of VW Heritage Mike Peckham for his feature this month in Ultra VW. In what seems to be a running theme (after ex employee  Tommy V’s modified marathon was volksworld cover star last year) Mikes stock example has claimed a 5 page spread. We are extra chuffed as it is the exact car on the cover of our catalogues (although we photohopped his numberplate!).

For those not in the know the Marathon Beetle was an extra special edition, and Mikes is one of 5000 in total made. Celebrating VW taking the production record from Ford, for the Model T, in February of 1972. Offered as a 1300 standard model, but also as a 1302 super Beetle they all shared the same blue paintwork (metallic silver/blue, L96M), and the distinctive silver and grey detailed steel wheels.
