Now in its 23rd year the Techno Classica in Essen is 20 halls full to bursting with Vintage and Classic vehicles of all genres; motor sport through to prestige as well as motorbikes and spare parts galore! If its accessories, memorabilia, art work or just a passion for by-gone automobiles for you this should definitely be on your calendar for next year.
VW Classic Parts had an impressive stand, complete with a number of rather special soft tops borrowed from the Wolfsburg museum. The Type 34 carbiolet was only ever made as a prototype, so for aircooled enthusiasts this is somewhat of a grail. For those more in tune with the Watercooled scene, its a game of spot the difference with the Golf Cabriolet prototype, based on a 1976 car – three years before the first Karmann version rolled off the production line.
