Taking the well deserved “Best Outsider” award at the Volksworld show was this beautiful 63 split. Built by One on One Restorations and belonging to Steve Tansey, it was in fact featured by Volksworld in September 2008.

David and Luke from Terry’s Beetle Services both celebrating 25 years in the VW scene spent the afternoon scouring the carpark, and fell in love with this van; agreeing it should of been on display inside really! Turns out Steve camped in it on the Saturday night in the carpark, so this is no show pony – it gets used well!

The prize was made for us by Jay Townsend of Thump! Thump! fame, based on a beetle speedo cleverly stuck at 25 mph to commemorate our 25thbirthday and hand carved with the “best outsider” inscription it really was a work of art. The rosette was a Friday morning project in the office, being made from TMI’s red mesh vinyl and black basket weave!
