A little late, but heres our Trade sales manager Ben’s take on one of the biggest VW weekends in the UK.

This is my umpteenth Bug Jam and the first time I was prepared for the ‘Mud Jam’ weather. Wellies and pac-a-mak in hand I arrived on Thursday for a weekend of standing around in the rain waiting for the clouds to clear and the track to be dried so I could watch some top notch racing. But this year was completely different. 3 full days of racing, not a grey cloud in sight and 14 Outlaw Flat Four cars ready to battle it out on the track!!

For me, the racing is the main thing. Having crewed for Bernard Newbury for the last four years racing in front of the biggest VW crowd in Europe is the highlight of the racing calendar and standing down on the start line with 20,000+ people gives you a bit of a buzz, even though you’re not the one strapped in a 10 second car.

I’ve got to say that this is the best Bug Jam since my first one in ’89 – Even BillaBug was there!!
