Jägerbug 2276 Engine Build

Hello again from Team Jägerbug!

Right, I’ve managed to sneak out of the garage for just long enough to post a few pictures of the engine build progress. Thankfully our deadline has been moved back a week and the engine now has to be in the car and running to go down to Raceshack on Thursday 25th June, but that does leave us less than a week! Then it’s on to the thrird European Bug In in Belgium at the beginning of July for some more Euro Drag racing fun.

Almost all of the parts in these pics have been supplied by Street Style & Power, it’s just a shame they couldn’t come up to Lincoln and put them all together for us to save us the job! The heads have been cut to give the desired 11:1 ratio, then the heads, case and all other parts have been cleaned over and over again to ensure we have a nice clean build.

The tinware will all be ready now at the powder coaters and with all the parts laid out on the bench it looks like a big jigsaw puzzle! We had a good evenings work in the garage on Wednesday and got the heads built back up. We can’t wait to see how these perform as they are so much better than the standard heads we used on the first engine.

The case is going together slowly with plenty of care being taken to lubricate everything and keep as clean as possible. As you can see from this pic, the crank is in place and the rods torqued up. Lifters are in, just a case of placing the cam in and we can bolt the case together.

Hopefully by the end of today we should have the long block built and maybe even something resembling an engine bolted onto the engine stand ready to fire up either over the weekend or early next week. Watch this space…..
