Heretics Summer Send Off

Our VW Heretics meeting in September was the first one to be held at our new home in Shoreham-by-Sea, it was also, the last of the year. It will be April 2015 before we start them back up again. Let’s not shed a tear though, join us in celebration!

We were a little nervous whether our Heretics regulars would be happy to travel to our new home for the last meet of the year. We needn’t of worried! The turnout was amazing, and our loading area became jam packed with cars within minutes, our customer car park offered much needed overflow for another 35 Volkswagens at least

As ever, the mixture of metal on display was as varied as the years of their manufacture. Beetles and Buses, Golfs, Porsches, Polos and T4s, T5s, T25s and a handful of LTs.. (yep that’s the really big one!) We’ve had distinguished “guests” before.. A 356 took these honours, along with a Cosworth powered Mk2 Escort (for those who appreciate a tasty blue oval now and again).

We were, as ever, kept fed and watered by Sarah and Mark in their Bratwurst type 2, who seem to of become quite a favourite with our regulars, and will hopefully continue their sterling sausage sizzling next year for us to enjoy once again.

Our ears were treated to the talents of a local blues rock band called Junkyard Sons. They played until after dark, by which time, as if by magic, almost everyone had disappeared! (It wasn’t you guys, honest.) Never was there a clearer sign that summer had come to an end… plus, with schools being back, mid week late nights have become a thing of the past.

Our thanks go out to everyone who came along and made it another great meet. We hope you will be back again in 2015, and perhaps come and join us in December for the Santa Cruise too? More details to follow on that once we have them.
