Far, Spa away!

It might not be that far really (335 miles) but when Laurent and James took off to the Le Bug show, in Belgium, at the wheel of our ’56 Single Cab, it probably felt like quite a mission!

The show located at the world famous Spa Francorchamps race circuit, is a popular one with the team here, and always delivers with the quality of vehicles on display. Attending for pleasure mostly, the guys got to have a good look round and kindly brought some photo’s back with their duty free!

Being a Grand Prix track and stooped in history, it would be rude to attend such a place without taking to the tarmac; and luckily for them, they got in on the circuit parade. It’s hardly a Formula One car, with its vintage handling and top speed only a whisker above 50MPH, but in the company of all the other cars, speed mattered little.

James, who until this year hadn’t managed to get back for over ten years, said “the show hasn’t really changed from when I was last here, the atmosphere is still the same,  just the quality of the cars has got better and the numbers have increased. It’s the best venue for any VW Show for sure.”

We could post pictures up here all day to demonstrate why we love this show, but we found this great video over on the Le Bug Facebook page which sums up the show perfectly, take a look! And when you’re done there, check out these fantastic photos on Flickr. Once you’ve finished with those, start planning your trip for next year, and we’ll see you there!
