There are of course some “obvious” choices for the aircooled community when searching online, for the benfit of those who are “pc shy” or new to VW’s here they are.

This is the major online community for Aircooled VW enthusiasts in the UK. A great place to meet likeminded owners or pick up an unfinished project. There is also a “movers and shakers” section, a great idea for those needing a lift to a show, or a part picked up from the otherside of the country.

The American equivelant of Volkszone, although full to the brim with other info too, paint codes, chassis number details, ideal starting place if you are looking to import a bus.

A great looking, Cal-look lifestyle site, whether you drive one, building one, or wish you owned one, you are in the right place. A whole host of useful tech articles are waiting to be read – and whats more the site is growing weekly.

This is the place to be if you prefer your VW’s in stock attire, the older the better. Offering a number of resources like colour codes, and some nice articles on the history of the vehicles too. Catering for all models up to 1967, including rare coachbuilts there is hours of time just waiting to be spent here!

A haven for those with a penchant for fast Beetles and the age old Cal Look. Great topics on big motors, and loosing weight on your race-car. Keep on top of the global VW drag scene here too.

A great UK based resource for fans and owners of the 67-72 bay window vans. Ideal place to start the search if you are in the market for a tax exempt second generation type 2. A busy forum with all the usual, and quite a club community – be sure to see a line up at most shows.

Much the same as the earlybay site deals with 68-72 models, here is another thriving online community dedicated to the later version of the type 2. Classified adverts and shows/meets organised.

Lucky enough to be driving a splitty? I expect you are well aware of these guys. In case not, it does what it says on the tin –  a great place to find out info for your restoration, and meet other owners. Struggling for a hard to find part, perhaps you’ll pick one up here? Want to get your van to a show? Look no further!

A Photo sharing website. Photo’s from the weekend shows are up and ready to view within a matter of hours, waiting for the magazine articles is a thing of the past! Check out our photo’s from the link – then use the search function to have a look round!

Hope you have found some of these links of interest. Have we missed out your favourite? Let us know the details and we’ll no doubt compile a second edition of virtual veedubbing.
