Last Sunday was a lovely day for a little jog in the park – bright, sunny & warm – which was mighty handy, as a few months ago three of the VWH crew decided it would be a good idea to sign up for the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London. Sales Director Barney, Purchasing Coordinator Jo and Office Administrator me took ourselves up to Hyde Park to join 12,500 people running 13.1 miles in and around some of London’s nicest green bits and most famous landmarks. We’ve all done a bit of long-distance running in the past but not this particular race – for us Royal Parks first-timers it was pretty awesome to run right past Big Ben and straight up the Mall to Buckingham Palace with thousands of other runners. Thanks to some decent training and a small miracle we all made it over the finish line in some good times and managed to secure almost £1000 in sponsorship for Cancer Research and Alzheimer’s Society.
